The Yield is hiring. Come join us change the face of agricultural technology and help feed the world without wrecking the planet. We are looking for a UX/UI Designer who is passionate about translating The Yield’s vision into beautiful and easy to use digital solutions.  

The Yield is an Internet of Things (IoT) agriculture technology company, taking the guesswork out of growing. Working with leading farmers, we help improve yields by providing on-farm sensors and a customised information service to make faster decisions.  


You will work with our Business Analysts, Engineering and Data Science teams to translate user needs into effective, creative and efficient solutions for our customers.

You will be responsible for leading a user-centred design process to understand and analyse users’ needs and develop UX/UI design specifications.  You will create customer journeys, wire frames and visual designs, working with the rest of the development team to ensure these outcomes are achieved.  


  • Taking input from users and translating concepts into user flows, wireframes, prototypes and visual designs that lead to intuitive user experiences

  • Working within our recent UX/UI re-design to provide a consistent experience for users;
  • Working closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Testers and end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction; 

  • Collaborating with the Development Team to clarify questions, report bugs and resolve issues;  
  • Collaborating with the Marketing Team to ensure brand consistency;
  • Helping us to continually improve our processes.


To be successful in this role you will:

  • Be a motivated and highly energetic UX Designer with at least 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Be an outstanding communicator with excellent listening skills;
  • Have a solid grasp of user-centred design (UCD), planning and conducting user research including interviews and workshops, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, and usability concerns
  • Have expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer, and the like is a must. Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills are a plus
  • Ability to work with users to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet customer needs and vision
  • Have extensive experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions, and a deep understanding of mobile-first and responsive design
  • Be passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation
  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and other stakeholders via a distributed model, to regularly deliver design solutions for approval
  • Be passionate about resolving user pain points through great design
  • Have strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies (preferable)
